CHIC or SHRIEK - Gucci's Fur Shoes at Milan Fashion Week

Gucci already said goodbye to one fashion friend this year with news that decade long Creative Director Frida Giannini was out. But now so are the heels & horse bit loafers? The typical fashion footwear you normally see treading the runway was noticeably absent at Gucci’s Milan Fashion Week in favor of a new furry friend.

A furry flat was seen scurrying down the runway and required a second look. Was Giggy from the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills walking in the show? Or did some socialite’s york escape her Gucci bag & end up on the runway? The theories seem as ridiculous as these furry flats look. Being a fashion guy, I am trying to see the merit in these by giving them an honest chance. Where would I wear these? The fur on the edges would get dirty sweeping the ground so certainly not around New York City? Maybe at home? Ditch the swifter & robot vacuum? Or just down the mail room, but would the building dogs respond well?

In addition to Gucci’s fur shoes, this also serves as Alessandro Michele’s debut women’s collection for Gucci. The show featured androgynous models with subdued florals, simple glasses, coats with fur accents. The styling was minimal with effortless makeup and hair.

Although this was a highly anticipated show, to see Michele’s direction, the show stopping, instaworthy moment was the pair of luxurious loafers with flowing fur.

It is a great debate, are these fur shoes CHIC or SHRIEK? Leave a comment & let us know if you would rock these furocious fur flats.
