Madonna’s preparations for a major 2015 are well underway considering her fashionably loud activities this week, including a provocative Interview Magazine nude photo spread as well as being named the "not so new" face of Versace. That is because Madonna has represented the over the top fashion house on four occasions, the first time in 1995. The Queen of Pop will be the face for Versace's Spring/Summer 2015 campaign.
However, the timing of Madonna’s return to Versace is suspicious especially considering the rumored rivalry she has with Lady Gaga who was most recently the face of Versace, where she served a young Donatella doppelgänger. Donatella’s words are more revealing stating, “Madonna is one of the true icons of Versace. I am thrilled to have my friend and the most powerful and directional artist as the face of Versace for Spring 2015.”
The black and white images were shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott in New York. The photographers wanted to capture the unapologetic and timeless power of Madonna while capitalize on her edgy femme fatale image. This marks the fourth time that the 56 year old singer has appeared in a Versace’s campaign. In 1995 her iconic Versace campaign had her sharing the spotlight with a Poodle and in 2005 she returned solo and in color.
Her next album, the first since 2012, is rumored to be released next year. Until then look for her in the fashion magazines or causing a stir on social media like Madonna's instagram.
