Just in time for the holiday season, premier Whisky maker Macallan has commemorated legendary fashion photographer Mario Testino with a collaboration of a limited edition single malt whisky collector’s gift set. Does that not sound like the perfect gift for the whiskey connuisuer or photographer on your list?
Testino is the fifth photographer in Macallan’s ‘Master of Photography’ collectable series, which has celebrated some of the most iconic names in photography. Testino’s artistic eye will help interpret the concept ‘Six Pillars,’ a set of characteristics that define the brand.
Testino chose to brings to life Macallan’s brand values like ‘spiritual home’ & ‘exceptional oak casks’ through a cast of six distinct and highly stylized models who he captures amid a group of revelers at a former Chinese palace. BTW, the photo shoot took place near the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square in Beijing, China.
Have your eye on one of the coveted limited edition sets? Well only 1,000 have been created so act quickly. Each gift set comes with a 750ml bottle of single malt scotch whisky, a Testino print and a photo book with 20 images from Beijing. Also, inside the glossy black case are a collection of six mini bottles concealed in a secret compartment and released by the press of a button. Very James Bond.
The Testino Macallan joins the impressive register of photographer whisky Elliott Erwitt, Albert Watson, Annie Leibovitz and Rankin in lending his artistic eye to the Macallan brand. These whiskies comprise the limited edition whisky, all a combination of American and Spanish sherry seasoned oak butts and puncheon casks.
