Bergdorf Goodman's 2014 Holiday Windows Light Up Fifth Avenue

Bergdorf Goodman opted for an alternative to the typical Christmas trees & holiday motifs for its "Inspired" theme for the 2014 Holiday window-scapes. This more creative take on Holiday windows pays homage to the great Arts of our time, by dedicating each of its iconic picture windows to a different form of art. Holiday shoppers & Bergdorf's clients will see various themes from music, dance, literature to architecture, painting and film.

“Our windows are usually scholarly yet psychedelic,” said David Hoey, Bergdorf Goodman’s creative director who oversees the holiday windows. He was on hand for the big reveal Monday night, along with a list of Bergdorf's top stars & executives like President Joshua Schulman & SVP Linda Fargo. Bergdorf’s.

Also in attendance were UNICEF president Caryl Stern and ambassador Téa Leoni who were lighting the nearby UNICEF snowflake for their collaboration with Bergdorf Goodman. “White Christmas” was performed by Broadway Kids Care marking the 60th anniversary of the Christmas movie. A special diamond edition of the film will be sold in store this season with proceeds benefiting UNICEF. A portion of Bergdorf Goodman's window event will also be donated to the charity. The end of the night was punctuated by a fabulous fireworks display in Bergdorf’s classic colors: white, silver and lavender.

Each of Bergdorf's windows depicts glamorous scenes of literature, theater, dance, painting, sculpture, architecture and film. This years theme was an obvious choice for the elite retailer, a proud supporter of the arts. These windows serves to further cement the strong corporate values Bergdorf Goodman has with the creative community.”

Each of the windows this year is dedicated to an art form. In a window depicting architecture, a mannequin in a Julien MacDonald gown stands out among the skyscrapers surrounding her. For the theater a vibrant Art Deco marquee with a mannequin in a gilded dress. Dance showcases a ballerina on pointe surrounded by gears, alluding to a music box. In the music window, a mannequin playing a trumpet in front of a glistening backdrop of brass instruments. Painting is just fabulous with a hand-painted Dolce & Gabbana gown takes center stage stealing the show. Film & Sculpture offer a more wintery scene with dog sleigh & icy surroundings. Take a stroll around the Fifth Avenue flagship and let us know what is your favorite of the Bergdorf Goodman Holiday Windows 2014.
